Demon King 魔尊/苍兰诀 The Parting of the Orchid and Cang – 九鷺非香 (Jiu Lu Fei Xiang) Epilogue 3

Artist: Ibuki Satsuki

Hello folks I am back! After some real life stuff that happened and occupied my time, I am bouncing back to translating~

I have found out that the drama adaptation of Demon King will star Yu Shuxin (Esther Yu) 虞书欣 as Little Orchid and Wang Hedi (Dylan Wang) 王鹤棣 as Dong Fang Qing Cang (or Dongfang Qingcang as some sites will put his name)!

I haven’t really thought of them as possible leads so it was a bit of a surprise. Although I have not watch their shows in full length to judge their actings, from what I have gotten bits of, it seemed that they both can pull off the roles. Hopefully, the costumes are pretty decent. At the very least, the costumes for DFQC would be black or some more black with white accents since the novel keep on mentioning his black clothes lol. Most importantly, I want the script to turn out decent. Please drama gods, give us a decent script lol.

Anyhow here’s the link to the third epilogue and there’s an announcement/update on the future epilogues. Please excuse the non-alignment for some of the texts as I tried my best 😅 Enjoy~

  1. I always try to have zero expectations for drama adaptations as 9 times out of 10 the result is bad and so different from the novel that drama and novel just share the title

  3. The drama was superb! Never expected for it to become such a hit. It did not even follow the storyline of the novel that much, but both actors did justice to the role. Actually I’m quite more inclined to the drama than the novel at this rate since DFQC was portrayed a lot human than he was in the novel. Both have their own charm. But Dylan just rocked it. Kudos!

  4. So happy I found your translation. I’m years late to this DK party hihi. Got here after searching , for an English version of the novel. After watching watching the drama adaptation and some eps of the anime. Got impatient waiting for the anime so I decided to search and voila I’ve finished reading your translation in less than a week(It’s difficult when you suddenly get addicted to something huhu). Would like to say thank you and commend you for your hard work. Love the aesthetic of your blog, your art work choices are amazing. Aside from the translation I also kept looking forward to the art work for each chapter. It’s like walking through an exhibit in a gallery and someone is narrating a story. Having trouble with the some of the Epilogues though. I’m slow with following instructions hahaha. Hope you don’t if I email for help.

  5. Love the drama and love the novel., They’re both amazing wich is kinda rare. The same characters but a completely different approach and still good. And Dylan Wang as our Mo Zun did nailed it, fits perfectly, and so does Esther.

  6. And yep, Little Orchid has an extraordinary life. Funny how Siming that was the Goddess of Fate never took a sight in to her Orchid’s Fate. As soon as Siming flew to find Chang Yuan and Little Orchid was left behind, she went down to the mortal world and was intercepted in her way by the just resurrected DFQC . Love at first bite, LOL. Everything connected like a perfect puzzle , she went straight in to his arms and after all the hardships they experienced ended were they started. Love how DFQC is feeling really guilty and tries to compensate Little Orchid, how he’s lettin her decide about their future life instead of doing what he pleases. Having a Home and some kids ( wow imagine their offspring, completely out of league) he’s so possesive but it comes of the fear of losing and remember that he never had anything besides his endless fights and conquests. In the end, he is a Demon and they experienced the feelings more intense that the rest and he is the greatest Demon of all. Finding someone to love and loves him back and soothes his soul Will make him jealous even of the wind that blows her hair lol.
